Effective 15 October 2026.
Kanchen is a workout log and planner for iPhone and iPad. It does not require an account and does not use a server. The information you enter is stored on your device, and the developer does not receive it.
Training records: the sessions, sets, notes, workouts, and routines you create, and any exercises you add to your own catalog (My Exercises).
Profile, if you complete it: weight, height, date of birth, and sex. Kanchen uses these to calculate heart-rate zones and power estimates.
Settings: units, equipment, and similar preferences.
This information is stored only on your device. Kanchen does not send it to the developer or to any third party, and does not sync it to iCloud. If you back up your device with iCloud Backup or to a computer, iOS includes Kanchen's data in that backup.
If you connect Apple Health, Kanchen asks for permission to:
workouts,
heart rate,
resting heart rate,
heart rate variability,
active energy,
walking and running, cycling, swimming and rowing distances,
weight, height, date of birth and sex.
Kanchen uses this data to import your past workouts, to show measurements next to the sessions they belong to, and to complete your profile.
each finished session, saved as a workout with its heart rate,
active energy,
distance, and route.
Kanchen reads and writes Health data only on your device. It does not send Health data to the developer or to any third party, and does not use it for advertising, marketing or data mining. You can change or remove Kanchen's access at any time in the Health app, or in iOS Settings under Privacy & Security > Health.
If you allow location access, Kanchen uses your location only during a session, and only to measure the distance and route of exercises such as running. The route is stored on your device and, if Apple Health is connected, saved to Apple Health with the workout.
If you select a heart-rate monitor, Kanchen connects to it over Bluetooth and reads it only during a session.
Kanchen uses notifications only for session countdowns, such as "3 seconds left", when the app is not on screen. It does not send promotional or reminder notifications.
Kanchen's widgets, Lock Screen widgets, and Live Activity show your planned workouts, this week's hours, and your current session. This information is shared between the app and its widgets only on your device. You can hide widget content on the Lock Screen in iOS Settings.
It does not require an account or sign-in.
It does not use analytics, crash reporting, or tracking.
It does not show advertising.
It does not share or sell data.
It does not connect to the internet, and it works fully offline.
You can export your data at any time in Settings > Export your data. The exported file is saved or sent only where you choose.
To delete your data, delete Kanchen from your device. This removes all data stored by Kanchen. Workouts already saved to Apple Health remain there, and you can delete them in the Health app.
Kanchen is not directed at children under 13. Kanchen does not collect personal information from any user, including children.
